We are actively looking for candidates who are self-motivated, passionate about science and medicine, and have a solid background in the cardiopulmonary biology and/or bioinformatic analysis with a good publication record. Prior experience in either 1) iPSC differentiation and organoid generation, vascular biology and pathobiology, gene editing, genomics/epigenetics, and animal models for cardiopulmonary diseases; or 2) single cell RNA/ATAC seq analysis, spatial transcriptomics, 3D fluid dynamics simulation, and machine learning will be preferred. Candidates must have (or expect to receive) a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD degree.

Conventional research grant has its limitation in supporting high risk, high reward programs which may lead to major breakthrough in biomedical science. We truly appreciate any financial and infrastructural support for high risk, high reward research projects currently at the Gu Lab.
We are also interested in collaborating with pharmaceutical and biotech companies in testing candidate drugs in our human iPSC/organoid system in a high-throughput and patient-specific manner.
